The Technology

The technology is a tool that improves our lives; we can use it for entertainment, communication, and other things. In my case, I use the technology to keep in touch with friends and relatives. When I was in elementary school, I remember my father wrote letters to keep in touch with his relatives and friends and I used to do the same to get news about their lives. It was complicated because it was necessary to write a letter with many things, It was important to be very specific if you wanted to get complete information about their things, about their lives. A few years later, the internet improved my relationship with them, because there was a new tool called e-mail, with this instrument I could keep in touch with my cousins, uncles and aunts; It was easier to write e-mails than common letters and it was not necessary to go to the post office to send them. Once or twice a week I used to write e-mails and I used to read the answers, my father was with me in order to know the different stories written by our relatives. The main problem was the connection; we used to use a kind of connection called dial-up, while we were reading the messages, it was impossible to pick up the phone because we were using the phone line to connect us to the internet. After that, some tools were created and we could share more information with our family, the dial-up was not necessary anymore because a new media was used, and while I was looking different things in Internet, And while I was surfing the net, my mom could use the phone without any problem and the capacity of the network was bigger. Several applications like chats, Facebook, Skype, drop-box and another more, were important to improve our familiar link or familiar feelings because we can talk several times a day. Even my father learned how to use the internet to talk with them because sometimes, my sister and I are not in home to help him. My father share familiar videos with my aunts or uncles, he is informed about different situations in each home all the time. About me, I can write to my cousins through gmail or chat, that´s good in order to know things about the family in other cities or countries and if I have the opportunity to meet them, we can talk about more things than if I talk with them a few times a year.
