Love story through Internet

My boyfriend went to Mexico in 2009, for studying his last semester. In that time we had three years of relationship. This situation was very hard for both, because we saw every day, we studied in the same group and we went out on weekends.

I had a computer, but my computer didn´t have a camera, then I had keep money and bought an economic camera. We connected three or four times a week, I helped him with his project in Mexico and he helped me with my project in Colombia, we exchanged literature, I scanned it and send him.

I always saw my e-mail, because he wrote me an e-mail with the hour that I had to connect, but sometimes I couldn´t see the e-mail and for that day we couldn´t communicated. Unfortunately in that time didn´t exist Line, what’s App or I didn´t know these applications and I didn´t have a Smartphone.

We spent one or two hours connected through messenger, I talked him about me, the University, our families and friends. He talked me about his experience in the University and his new friends.  He sent me photos about his travels to Cancun, Veracruz, Mexico city; I wished I had been with him.

When come December I was more sad because we did many things on vacations, we saw the lightings, traveled to some towns, we went to dance and we spent time with our friends and families.

I remember that on December 24^th we were connected since 10 p.m, he was alone because his classmates were in their houses, I was in my house with my family, but I felt some sad for him. That day we talked until 12 at night and later I shared with my family. He always said that he was very good because he knew that it was for few time.

He had the trip to Colombia in January, and I was waiting connected with him on December 30^th, but I couldn´t do it. That night I was very worry about him, then I listened the bell, it was very late and my father opened the door, when I saw my boyfriend, I was very happy and I couldn´t believe. That day ended four months of separation.

I think technology can distance people in some cases, because many times people prefer be with the cellphone and don´t talk with the person that have in front. On the other hand if you had a Smartphone or a computer you can be in touch with your family and friends.

Today I say thanks for technology, because I could see my boyfriend and talked with him. In other time calls were very expensive and you had send letters but you couldn´t see that person that you love.
