My history with technology

Érika María Serna Giraldo

My mother is person who gave me my first computer, she is who started my relationship with the technology. When I was 10 years old, my life turn around the plays and the school, I could spend my time in the street with my little friends and other time with my books, but sometime I found with the technology.

With my first computer I learned to surf the internet, to consult and reduce my research time in libraries, but always increasing my time reading about topics that interest me as literature, mystery and more communication themes.

I like learn all the time since that time, if I had more time, I would spend it learn about interesting themes as the social media, digital marketing and analytics social media. But in this moment, I can't spend my time in this things.

Nowadays, the technology is a important tool for my job, and my relationship with the technology is my principal implement for it. With the computer and the internet I work all time, even when I'm not in the office. So, if I not had a smartphone, maybe I could spend my free time in another thing but I not was update with my job.

With the technology development, the communication with the other person is easier and faster. You can talk with friends are in another country, with your boyfriend in another city, your family in another place or, even, with your boss when you have a little rest. But if you have a boss as mine, you can turn off your smartphone and logout.

If the technology was not as developed as today, I could not telework, always need to have a computer closely and would not be as easy to fix as now. If we did not have smart phones, people would talk less with those who are far and more with those who are close, but could also find other distractions that do not allow them to share with their surroundings.

Actually, I wish had more time for my study, for me and for learn new things, maybe less spend time with the technology but I will always be kept updated in technology.
